The CBA1G-150 amplifier from Teseq covers frequency range from 100 kHz to 1 GHz with rated power of 150 watts. The amplifier is specially designed for radiated EMC testing where it provides continuous output in to the very poor match typically associated with broadband EMC antenna tested at lower frequency range. Most of the antennas typically have their lowest gain at the lowest frequency, amplifier requires to produce more power than at the higher frequencies. Unlike other amplifiers designed for general purpose applications, this EMC specific amplifier maximizes the linear power at the lowest frequency. Hence they can be used with various specialized applications.
The Teseq’s amplifiers are designed with the GaAs Class A design ensures a high reliability, low distortion linear performance across the frequency range. This design also ensures that the amplifier will continue to operate at full power even when presented with an open or short circuit at its output. The use of gallium arsenide technology re-presents a breakthrough in amplifier design for this frequency range and output power. The amplifiers designed based on silicon technology have relatively poor compression characteristics, low efficiency and sometimes poor reliability also.
All amplifiers are power thru switch mode power supplies to provide high efficiency and high power factor. The units are cooled by internal fan also the temperature sensing is provided to measure the malfunction of the fans. For amplifier to put in the stand by mode, there is a provision of safety interlock connector. There are front panel indicators to show the over temperature.
